A few weeks back Phil Reed, our Consumer Advice Editor, meet with a team from ABC’s Good Morning America in Phoenix. The plan was to video a “how to” piece on buying a used vehicle.
The team visited two dealerships in the Phoenix area, armed with TMV pricing and of course, the experienced Mr. Reed. Apparently the first dealership visited was awful. But the second store did a good job and the vehicle was purchased. Over six hours of video was shot. The GMA team edited this down to a piece lasting less than 5 minutes that aired this morning.
Dealers can be counted on to get riled up about these kinds of stories. But for consumers, the message is simple. There are good dealers out there. If the first one you visit is not treating you correctly, leave.
